FINANCE Minister AMA Muhith has asked the 7th Pay Commission to show special consideration for police and education (teacher) departments while considering the pay structure of the government employees.
“I have had some talks with the commission about special consideration to few departments,” the minister told reporters today at his office at the Secretariat.
Earlier on Wednesday, the minister recognised the need for special consideration on the pay structure of Bangladesh Bank and Bapex, considering their special nature of job.
He did not discuss the issue of Bangladesh Bank and Bapex with the commission yet, sources said.
Muhith said the 7th pay commission is scheduled to submit its recommendation to the government in April this year, based on which the government would decide the new pay structure.
“It (pay hike) is not possible without a budget,” he told reporters, adding that decision on pay hike may not be possible before the next budget in June this year.
