SHEIKH Hasina has today nearly readied the list of her new cabinet, The Daily Star reports in its online edition today quoting party sources.

It has been learnt that in her new cabinet Motia Chowdhury will hold the food ministry while Obaidul Quader commerce, Syed Ashraful Islam LGRD, AK Khandker foreign, Sahara Khatun home, Col (retd) Faruk Khan social welfare, Dipu Moni woman affairs, Abul Maal Abdul Muhit finance, Tanjim Ahmed Shohel Taj state minister for home, Dr Abdur Razzak agriculture and Dr Hassan Mahmud forest and environment ministries, the newspaper reports.

Names of several Awami League bigwigs such as Amir Hossain Amu, Abdur Razzak, Sajeda Chowdhury, Tofail Ahmed, Abdul Jalil and Suranjit Sengupta may be excluded from the list of the new cabinet, different party sources told The Daily Star.

Hasina, also the Awami League chief, discussed formation of the new cabinet with party veteran politician Zillur Rahman at his Gulshan residence yesterday.

Meanwhile, the oath taking ceremony of the prime minister and members of the cabinet will be held at Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban at 6:00pm tomorrow, said a handout of the Press Information Department.

About 1,000 guests including members of parliament, advisers to the caretaker government, diplomats, senior civil and military officials and eminent citizens have been invited to the function.

Talking to reporters yesterday at his Secretariat office, Cabinet Secretary M Abdul Aziz said they did not get the list of cabinet members as of afternoon although they had finalised all preparations for the oath taking ceremony. He said some 50 cars and 30 residences are ready for the ministers.
